Man's Dangly Bits Left Dangling in a Case of Exposure
January 19th 2009 06:21
A man’s dangly bits were left dangling while upside down, without his pants on a ski lift.
In a bizarre incident that is, no doubt, going to leave the man involved receiving a tidy sum in litigation, a skier at Colorado's Vail ski resort was left hanging upside down with no pants and all his bits on show from a chairlift on 1 January.
The January 1 misfortune happened after the the 48 year old man and a child boarded a high-speed lift in Vail's Blue Sky Basin. Somehow, the chairlift's fold-down seat was not in the lowered position. This caused the man to partially fall through the resulting gap with his right ski jamming in the chairlift.
As seen in the photo below, (and more on The Smoking Gun’s Website) snapped by fellow skier, Marty Odom, the Skyline Express lift was stopped shortly after the pair's bungled boarding resulted in the man dangling from the lift with all of his bits out there for the world to see. He was stuck for about 15 minutes before Vail personnel backed the lift up and dislodged the hapless – and thankfully for him, unidentified man – from the chairlift.
A statement released by Vail Resorts, which operates the ski area, reported that the skier was not injured after being "suspended for approximately seven minutes." The press release did not explain how the mishap occurred, only that "the man was caught on the chair".
I wonder if he got frostbite? Ouch!
