Halle Berry - Esquire's Sexiest Woman of the Year

Halle Berry has been named Esquire's new Sexiest Woman Alive. "Being 42 and having just had a baby, I think I’ll take it," she said when told, she then added, "I share this title with every woman, because every woman is a nominee for it at any moment." Aw shucks Halle, you’ve seen me in the mornings haven’t you?
Wearing very little in the photo spread Berry said, "Sexiness is a state of mind — a comfortable state of being," she says. "It's about loving yourself in your most unlovable moments."
The twice-divorced actor gave birth to her first child with model Gabriel Aubrey in March this year although she previously legally adopted step-daughter India with ex-husband Eric Benet. Being in her forties obviously agrees with her. At 42 she says, "I know damned well I am sexier now than I used to be”.
After two unsuccessful marriages, Berry says she knows how to take care of herself. "You know the stuff they say about a woman being responsible for her own orgasms? That's all true. And in my case, that makes me responsible for pretty damned good orgasms these days."
I’m sure her boyfriend is pleased to hear it.

I think Halle is the oldest of the women they have dubbed sexiest so I think it's a big hooray for women in their forties (I wish I looked half that good!) but I have to agree that some of the photos aren't the best or most flattering. The one of Scarlett is awful! However, I do think the pic of Jessica Biel is hot.
Do you have anyone you think deserves the title for 2008? There are so many gorgeous women out there. I would tend to agree with Raoul in saying Monica Bellucci leaves them all in the shade, you can see his post HERE. Now she is truly beautiful!

I do have two names to mention though. One is Jessica Alba. they could have even did a co-cover since they both recently gave birth and are back to being hotter than pre-pregnancy.
The other would be Cote de Pablo from the TV shoe NCIS. She doesn't get nearly enough attention. Now that I mention her I have to also mention Pauley Perrette from the show. She isn't the normal image of "sexiest", but she certainly could be if people broadened their idea of the term.

Hi Morgan, I think Monica is just gorgeous, she just oozes sex appeal. J-Lo is very pretty and definitely sexy. Actually that's a great list of hot women although I've gone off Alyssa Milano a bit, not quite sure why as she is definitely beautiful. I think maybe she's starting to look a bit trashy whereas the others in your list look very classy.

I have to say Halle Berry is a great choice regardless of age. The pics (I think) don't do Scarlett Johannesson or Angelina Jolie justice. And Charlize Theron is all but hidden. I have to say, I love reading about Angelina Jolie. She is almost a 21st Century hippy - but glamourised. And there is just something about her - I really don't know what.
