Goodbye Facebook...it's you, not me.

I'm going to do something different today...I'm going to be serious. I know, my husband says it's not possible but I'll give it a try.
I am writing this because once again my decision to F-Off Facebook has been strengthened. I just read a story, that you can find here about a Facebook page established to bid adieu and pay respect to Raoul Moat, the man who led British police on possibly their biggest manhunt in history, before cowardly killing himself.
Siobhan O'Dowd, the creator of the Facebook page titled, "R.I.P Raoul Moat You Legend" took the page down after getting some bad press, hmmm, that's a mystery...but has stated that she intends on re-instating the idiotic (sorry, my word there) group honouring a psychologically imbalanced man that tried to kill numerous people after actually killing one.
She was quoted saying, "We don't condone what he did as what he did was wrong. I feel sorry for the families but he was still a human being at the end of the day." Which after reading that, I sort of felt for the girl, UNTIL she completely shredded any respect I had for her when she added that he "hid from police for a week...I think he's a legend for keeping the police on their toes."
I'm not sure if she knows what an idiot she looks like, saying she feels sorry for the families, while at the same time being in admiration of a man keeping police guessing for a week while the families of those involved were going through possibly the worst experience of their lives.
Let's get the facts straight. He shot, meaning he TRIED to kill his ex-girlfriend, shot and KILLED her boyfriend and shot, meaning TRIED to kill two police officers. And this woman thinks he is a legend for eluding police. No, sorry dear, a legend is say Steve Irwin or Mahatama Ghandi. Not a man who couldn't handle the break-up of his relationship and decided to ruin numerous people's lives to allay his anger at not feeling good enough.
And to top all of this off, the head of Facebook would not pull the page down because, "We have 26 million people of Facebook in the UK, each of which has their own opinion, and they are entitled to express their views as long as their comments do not violate our terms."
Obviously when creating the site, Facebook, and by Facebook I mean Mark Zuckerberg, did not include any morality terms in their list of things worthy of getting the virtual boot in the ass.
Seriously? If that's how low the bar is, let's just put up one calling Hitler a legend! But no, you won't allow that will you. Because too many people would be involved there, say like the souls of 9 million people. Where this little story, well hell, it's just one soul that could have been more. Your financial report can take that sort of backlash. And why piss off the 38,000 members of the group over one dead guy? You did the math Mark, don't deny it.
But is one person's life any less meaningful than 9 million? They're all someone's son, daughter, Dad, Mum, sister, brother, cousin, friend. I may be alone in doing this, but I'm not waiting for my 30-day Facebook diet to come to an end to make my decision, I'm cutting the cord today on Facebook...for good. You've shown me your true nature Mark Zuckerberg. Once a college kid who only wanted to help people on campus socilize is now morally selling himself in lieu of being a bit unpopular.
And you call yourself smart.

Not defending the CEO but the rules of FB are set - if he was to break them by removing an idiot that does not break the rules and not only deserves to be thrown off FB but beaten with the idiot stick could he not liable to a lawsuit?
I also think this idiot would get more punishment by allowing the site to remain open - FBers are pretty good at crucifying someone if required
Now for me to find her site and rip her a new one

By remaining impartial, Facebook is allowing anyone/everyone to express their opinion without fear of censorship. If you wanted it truly to be politically correct, you'd have to remove the pages of every war hero, any policeman who had killed someone in the line of duty, etc. I think honoring them is worth tolerating a few idiots with stupid fanpages.
